Morning glory for old flames

Former couple Flavia Cacace and Vincent Simone sizzled as they tangoed their way across the This Morning studio yesterday. The stunning pair are performing in Midnight Tango at the Aldwych Theatre in London this month – in a show produced by former judge Arlene Phillips.

Flavia said: "It's very different to most other dance performances we've done. It actually tells a story. There's a beautiful set – it's all located in a bar in Buenos Aires.

Strictly mania!

As Strictly mania grips the country, one Buxton man has swept a contestant off her feet – and will be at Blackpool’s Tower Ballroom to see her take part in the show which marks this weekend’s glitterball final.

And it brings popular dance teacher Michael Hough full circle – as he was among the first dancers to appear on BBC TV’s groundbreaking Come Dancing show, from which the Strictly phenomenon takes its name.

Edwina is Strictly's 1st reject

Twirling former Tory MP Edwina Currie has become the first celebrity to waltz off Strictly Come Dancing.

The public vote saw the 64-year-old booted off the show after getting a low score of 19 from the judging panel. Her foxtrot around a table and chairs opposite professional dancer Vincent Simone failed to impress them.

Edwina tells of laughter at expense of Nancy

In one corner: Nancy Dell'Olio, the fiery ex-lover of the grey man Sven-Göran Eriksson. In the other: Edwina Currie, the fiery ex-lover of the grey man John Major – who was allegedly "not glamorous enough" for the younger woman to dance alongside.

Now, Mrs Currie has insisted there is nothing in the feud; that it is all just for show – a claim not at all undermined by her admission that she hurt herself laughing at Miss Dell'Olio's disastrous dancing.

Ann: Edwina changes her Strictly tune

Whatever fun I might have had on Strictly last year I would never have claimed that it left me an expert in dance so I was pleasantly surprised at how often the judges alighted upon the same points I had noted: the unconvincing, fixed smile of Rory Bremner, the tendency of Robbie Savage to let Ola do all the work, the carefully placed rather than fluent footwork of Harry Judd.

Edwina wants sexier Strictly moves

Daring Edwina Currie has ordered her Strictly partner Vincent Simone to sex up their routines.

The 64-year-old ex-minister is determined not to be seen as a comedy character like fellow Tory Ann Widdecombe was last year.

She reckons she can give younger contestants a run for their money and is planning more stunts like the one in her opening dance on Saturday — when she flashed her bright red knickers.

Edwina's heatwave

Edwina Currie was in red hot form last night as she performed a saucy routine on Strictly Come Dancing.

Edwina fuels Nancy fued

Big-mouthed Strictly star Edwina Currie claims her rival Nancy Dell’Olio’s dance partner prefers HER company.

According to Edwina, Anton Du Beke runs to her for comfort at every available opportunity. “He always comes up to me and gives me a hug... he has a look of relief on his face!” she says.

But diplomatic Anton, meanwhile, has nothing but praise for his fiery Italian dance partner.

Edwina's funny turn

Edwina Currie - ‘I don’t want to show a bit of thigh on Strictly – not yet’

Dance lessons seem to have given Edwina Currie a funny turn. Gone is the salacious chat splattered with expletives that others have testified to since her political career ended in 1997. Quite absent is the tabloid-mooted suggestion that Currie and her fellow Strictly Come Dancing contestant Nancy Dell’Olio are already bitter rivals. Currie immediately bows out of that race with the comment:

“I’m deeply flattered, I’m old enough to be her mother.” (Perhaps Edwina, 64, is the only person in the country to have swallowed 50-year-old Nancy’s boast that, “I love to look 30 – like I look now.”)

Strictly war!

Edwina Currie and Nancy Dell’Olio’s feud escalates

The two Strictly Come Dancing contestants clashed as they fought against each other to get the most attention from dancers Anton Du Beke and Brendan Cole. It’s was a case of handbags at dawn once again, after Strictly Come Dancing contestants Edwina Currie and Nancy Dell’Olio reportedly clashed at a launch party for the programme.

The ladies, who are competing against each other in this year’s dancing show, didn’t exactly hit it off when first introduced; and it seems relations between the pair are only getting frostier.
