Alesha Dixon was worthy of lifting the Strictly Come Dancing glitterball as a dancer but she has never convinced as a judge. She has improved since being ridiculed for her early appearances after replacing Arlene Phillips three series ago, but still adds little to the panel beyond lowering the average age and increasing the need for lip gloss.
To go from being a beginner to judging others’ efforts so soon afterwards always seemed strange. It was rare Alesha came up with anything insightful that hadn’t already been said by the other judges.
