The BBC is planning to switch Strictly Come Dancing back to two nights after complaints that the corporation engaged in aggressive scheduling by putting the show on one Saturday slot.

It caused complaints from rival channels when Strictly’s Sunday night results show was removed in favour of a single two-hour episode on Saturday, putting the programme in direct competition with ITV’s The X Factor.
