Porn star axed from panto role

A Panto star has been axed from his role as Prince Charming – after it was revealed that he appeared in a Porn film.

Craig Chalmers, 30, found fame after appearing on hit BBC show Any Dream Will Do in 2007, which searched for a new lead to star in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.

Rowland Rivron crowned 'Let's Dance' champion

Comedian Rowland Rivron has won the 2012 series of Let's Dance For Sport Relief, after fighting off competition from seven other celebrity dance acts in Saturday's final.

The 54-year-old funnyman triumphed with his recreation of the routine from Fatboy Slim's Weapon Of Choice video, which saw him dancing through a hotel lobby and performing some elaborate moves using chairs and other furniture.

Katy Perry to perform on Let's Dance

Katy Perry will give an exclusive UK performance of her brand new single Part Of Me during the live Grand Final of BBC One’s Let’s Dance for Sport Relief on Saturday 17 March.

Katy joins JLS, who will be entertaining the audience with a special performance of their Sport Relief single Proud, while eight finalists pull out all the stops in a bid to be crowned the Let’s Dance Champion for Sport Relief 2012.

Rowland won the public vote following his energetic recreation of the dance routine famously featured in Fatboy Slim's Weapon Of Choice video - which saw him vault over chairs and dance on table tops.

Eddie 'the Eagle' Edwards and Miles Jupp have become the latest two contenders to reach the final of Let's Dance for Sport Relief, following Saturday night's show.

Olympic skiier Eddie won this weekend's public vote following his recreation of the opening sequence from Austin Powers: International Man Of Mystery. Meanwhile Miles - best known for the sitcom Rev and the children's show Balamory - beat TOWIE twosome Amy Childs and Harry Derbidge to the final after his version of the Prodigy's Firestarter proved a hit with the judges.

Gary Barlow and Andrew Lloyd Webber team up

Andrew Lloyd Webber and Gary Barlow announced that they are working together to compose a special song to celebrate The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, which will feature artists and contributors from the UK and the Commonwealth.

The result of their collaboration will be performed at the star-studded Diamond Jubilee Concert outside Buckingham Palace on 4 June. To help create this unique piece of music, Gary will embark on a journey around the world to discover what The Queen means to the ordinary people of the Commonwealth. His journey will feature in an hour-long documentary for BBC One, commissioned by Danny Cohen, Controller, BBC One.

Charlotte settles claim against NOTW

Charlotte Church has settled her phone-hacking damages claim against News of the World publisher News Group Newspapers, the High Court has heard.

The resolution of the action brought by 25-year-old singer and her parents, James and Maria, came just days before it was due to be tried at London's High Court. Mr Justice Vos was due to consider the claim that 33 articles in the now defunct Sunday newspaper were the product of hacking into voicemails and had a negative impact on the family's business and her mother's health.

Let's Dance scores audience of over six million

Around 6.5m viewers tuned in to the opening edition of Let's Dance for Sport Relief 2012, according to the BBC.

The corporation said that it had an audience share of 28.9 per cent for the dance show, which sees celebrities recreating famous dance routines in aid of the charity. Saturday's show was won by EastEnders duo Laurie Brett and Tameka Empson with their recreation of the Lady Gaga/Beyonce hit Telephone.

EastEnders stars Tameka Empson and Laurie Brett, and comedian Terry Alderton have become the first two celebrity acts to make the final of Let's Dance For Sport Relief 2012.

Tameka - aka Albert Square's Kim Fox - and co-star Laurie, who plays Jane Beale - won the viewers' vote in the first show of the series, which sees a string of celebrities re-interpret classic dance routines.

Samantha Barks lands Eponine role in Les Mis film

Actress Samantha Barks was given the "biggest surprise" when impresario Cameron Mackintosh joined her on stage to hand her a role in a Hollywood film.

Barks had just finished performing as Nancy in Oliver! at Manchester's Palace Theatre when Mackintosh appeared. He said she had been chosen to join the cast of Les Miserables, which will also star Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe.

Lloyd Webber to search for Superstar on ITV

Andrew Lloyd Webber said the hunt for a new lead in Jesus Christ Superstar would take the show back to its 'roots', after moving from the BBC to ITV.

The musical impresario, who has found stars for The Sound Of Music, Joseph And The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Oliver! and The Wizard Of Oz at the BBC, confirmed the move. It comes after his BBC programmes were criticised for serving Lord Lloyd Webber's own commercial interests.

Andrew Lloyd-Webber quits BBC for ITV

Lord Andrew Lloyd-Webber has quit the BBC to film a new show for ITV. The musicals supremo will head up the judging panel in a search to find an actor to play Judas in a touring production of rock opera 'Jesus Christ Superstar' and has joined the rival network as his former bosses were uncomfortable with casting roles in the biblical stage show.

A source said: "He has been wanting to get this off the ground for some time but the BBC just didn't want it. "They had issues about auditioning for Jesus. They feared Christians would get hot under the collar. The Beeb also kept getting flak for effectively promoting Andrew's commercial interests.

The actor, who plays ­Christian Clarke in the Beeb soap, married Jon Tsouras in a civil ceremony. John, 40, had been with Canadian-born Jon for eight years before the pair decided to get hitched.
