Robin: I’ll beat the pain to dance on the ice

Robin Cousins

Dancing On Ice judge Robin Cousins has revealed he was secretly in agony when he won his Olympic gold medal – as he prepares to take to the ice to celebrate London 2012. He went on to deliver a superb performance at the 1980 Games but had to retire after problems with his knees left him in permanent pain and needing EIGHT operations.

Now Robin has been persuaded to skate again for the first time in 12 years for Dancing On Ice Goes Gold, featuring Olympic medallists including Olga Korbut, Tessa Sanderson and Colin Jackson.
