Crocked Chesney Hawkes has made up for missing out on the glitz of Dancing On Ice – by blinging up his leg cast.

The one-hit wonder broke his leg after taking a tumble during training for the ITV1 show. Chesney, who had a hit with The One And Only in 1991, said he was gutted to leave the competition which starts on Sunday.

Dancing On Ice star Chemmy Alcott has revealed that fellow contestant Chesney Hawkes is feeling down about his injury. The skier said she had contacted Hawkes by email to find out if he is recovering from his sprained ankle.

She told the Daily Mirror: "We're still waiting to hear how bad it is. I've got a lot of tips from doctors and healing tools. "So last night I fired over an email to him and I spoke to him.

One-hit wonder Chesney Hawkes has been forced to drop out of this year's Dancing on Ice after spraining his ankle and fracturing his leg during practice.

The 'One and Only' singer was slated to compete against Sugababes singer Heidi Range, former child star Corey Feldman and Dallas actress Charlene Tilton in ITV1's celebrity ice-skating contest.

Hawkes said in a statement that he was "gutted" about not being able to take part and said he hoped to appear on the show next year.

Singer Chesney Hawkes said there’s nothing he won’t wear for the new season of Dancing on Ice - brace yourself ladies! He’s quite at home in the tight spandex skating outfits and might even be showing off “a bit of breast” in the upcoming live shows. Ooh er!

He explained, “I had a meeting with the costume designer and he asked if there was anything I wouldn’t like to wear and I was like 'No! Bring it on!' He then asked, 'so you don't mind showing a bit of breast?' and I was like 'no not at all!'”

Chesney Hawkes may miss the launch show of 'Dancing On Ice' after injuring himself during training. The 'One and Only' singer had been due to take part in the ITV1 celebrity skating competition - which launches this Sunday (08.01.12) - but his place is now in jeopardy after he suffered an injury during a training session.

Writing on the official 'Dancing On Ice' twitter page, a spokesperson said: "The bad news is that Chesney Hawkes is injured and his place on the show on Sunday is hanging in the balance - nooooooo! (sic)"
