Dancing on Ice contestant Tana Ramsay has admitted that her family think she is mad for taking part in the competition. However, Tana revealed that her chef husband Gordon has been her biggest source of encouragement.
She said: "When Gordon brought the kids to watch me for the first time a couple of Sundays ago I was really nervous because I kept thinking they might be disappointed. But they really enjoyed it.
"I think all my family just think I'm slightly mad, in fact probably completely mad, but at the same time they are pleased that I'm trying something different."
The 35-year-old is to be partnered by professional skater Stuart Widdall but has said she was concerned that her fitness levels and co-ordination would not be up to the demands of the programme.
She added: "Before this I thought I was quite fit because I run, but the fitness required for figure skating is in a whole different league."
However, Tana has said she will not be baring too much flesh on the ice.
She told the Daily Telegraph: "The first costume I tried on had a diamond shape cut-out, and I said, 'I don't do cut-outs.'
"I have four kids and my 12-year-old would be mortified if I went on the ice with bits cut out.
"As for Gordon, I think he just thinks I've got to get on with it, I've got to be dignified though.
