Dr Hilary went as far as he could

Dancing on Ice contestant Dr Hilary Jones has said that he went as far as he could in the competition. The 56-year-old was a complete novice going into the contest and admitted that there was a limit how long he could stay in.

Jones was the sixth contestant to leave the show after a number of shaky performances.

Dr. Hilary's Dancing surgery

Dr. Hilary Jones felt as though Dancing On Ice turned into a doctor's surgery. The TV medical expert - who was booted off the show on Sunday - was inundated with health question from his fellow contestants, who were plagued with injuries as the competition turned dangerous.

He said: "It's a high-risk sport. We have had fractured ribs, lots of people having cortisone injections, physio, massage and manipulation. I've got a bruised shoulder, forearm and hip and had two injections in my shoulder.

Dr Hilary wanted the 'challenge' of DOI

Dancing on Ice star Dr Hilary Jones has confessed that he joined the show because he wanted to take on a new challenge. The GMTV presenter, who danced with pro partner Alexandra Schaumann, lost out in the skate-off with former Coronation Street star Danny Young on Sunday night.

The 56-year-old told Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on This Morning that he likes to be taken outside his comfort zone.

The 56-year-old - the oldest celebrity ever to take part in the series - came a cropper after both he and Coronation Street's Danny Young landed in the bottom two.

He may not be the judges’ favourite, but Basingstoke’s Dr Hilary Jones’ popularity with the public shows no sign of wavering after viewers again kept him in the Dancing on Ice competition.

The Hampshire Clinic GP showed some improvement on the ITV1 Sunday night show when he danced to Truly, Madly, Deeply by Savage Garden, and even managed to lift his partner Alexandra Schaumann

An apple a day to keep Dr Hilary away

Dancing on Ice judge Jason Gardiner has joked that he has been taking an apple a day to keep Dr Hillary Jones away from the ice dance contest. The outspoken Aussie said that he believes that the contestant will be voted off the show if he were to be placed in a skate-off on Sunday night.

Jason told this morning that the GMTV presenter was still being kept in the competition because of his massive female fanbase

Dr Hilary's Week Five Performance

After receiving his first batch of almost-positive comments from the judges last week, Dr Hilary Jones began training this week with an air of confidence.

Observing the improvement, mentors Jayne and Chris were hoping to use the opportunity to get in there and push him a bit more. Jayne said: “I think because Hilary had a good performance, it has given the confidence to go out and enjoy it.

Dr Hilary edges his way to dance survival

He may not have taken to the ice like a duck to water, but Dr Hilary Jones has still got his skates on after the public got behind him when he took part in ITV1 show Dancing on Ice.

The Hampshire Clinic GP and GMTV resident doctor gained so few votes from the panel of judges last Sunday that he came second from bottom on the scoreboard with just 11.5 points out of a possible 30.
