Chris Fountain has joked that he is set to go on the dole now the Dancing On Ice tour has finished.
The former contestant on the ITV1 show, who has also filmed his final scenes in Hollyoaks, said he didn't have any immediate plans and was looking forward to a break from working.
"Literally from my last day (on Hollyoaks) I went straight to the Dancing On Ice tour and did four or five venues with them, so I am just starting to feel that it's finished now and I am going to go and sign on tomorrow!" he laughed.
Speaking on the red carpet at the British Soap Awards, at which Hollyoaks was left empty-handed, he added: "The main thing I am looking forward to at the minute is getting a holiday.
"Obviously for the past five years I've had to try and book it off and get it cancelled and then change it and then rebook my holiday, so it will be nice to actually get a holiday."
However, Chris doesn't want to commit to one career plan - though he would like to do films.
"I would love to get into films but I am not going to say kind of what I want to do, just because everyone goes 'oh I want to go to America and I want to do films'," he said.
"I don't want to be a failure so I just want it to naturally progress into what it will, let career take its course really."
